A salon is a working room before it is a good-looking one. People stand in it all day, water and heat run through it, and every part of the room is on show from the moment the door opens. The film shows the finished space.

The front is black and glazed almost to the pavement, the name in gold across the fascia, with two chairs and a small table set out on the paving. Inside, the walls are lined in vertical oak slats and the screens are fluted glass. The ceiling is painted out black, so the track spots and the slim vertical lights beside each mirror do the lighting on their own. Black leather chairs sit at white stations. At the far end the backwash basins stand under backlit shelving that holds products, candles and planting, and the floor is large-format tile throughout.
