An Oak-Post Carport
A flat-roofed carport on squared oak posts, spanning the block-paved parking area between a brick boundary wall and the fence.
Cars, bins and the general overflow of a household end up in front of the house, which is the part of it everyone sees first. A carport covers that ground without closing it in, so the approach still reads as open.
This one stands on squared oak posts carrying a flat roof, with a deep charcoal fascia and a boarded soffit set with downlights. It spans the block-paved parking area between the brick boundary wall and the close-boarded fence, and the timber bin stores stand alongside it.
The two photographs are the same view at different times of the year. In the first the posts are set and the roof frame is levelled, with the covering still wrapped on the paving and the trees behind bare. In the second the roof is on and the trees are in full leaf.
