A Sunken Spa and Cold Plunge
A spa and a cold plunge built as two sunken bays in green-grey slate, set flush into a travertine surround and a silvered deck beside the pool.
Two bays side by side, both flush with the floor. One is a spa with a bench seat, air and water jets and a keypad set into the wall; the other is a plain cold plunge. Both are clad in green-grey slate, which gives the water a different colour from the pool alongside.
They sit in a cream travertine surround with a silvered deck running up to them, so nothing stands proud of the terrace. The spa belongs to the garden rather than sitting on top of it.
Beyond them, two high-backed rattan chairs on a strip of lawn between silver birches, with the swimming pool under its cover to one side. The beds around it were newly planted when these photographs were taken.
